John E. Mahoney is a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, MA (1990), the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (1994) and the Suffolk University School of Law (1997). He began getting interested in the law by working for his uncle, Joseph V. Mahoney, partner of Hatem and Mahoney, LLP, a general practice law firm in North Andover, MA, during high school. After focusing on all aspects of real estate and estate planning while at the Suffolk University School of Law, John worked at the real estate firm of Siegel, Edelstein, Bussone and Fallon in Beverly, MA for a year, then joined Hatem and Mahoney, LLP in North Andover, MA for five years.
In 2003, John made the decision to open his own general practice law firm specializing in real estate and estate planning. Shortly thereafter, he got married and moved the practice to Attleboro to start his family. In late 2006, he and his family moved to the Merrimack Valley and John moved his practice to his original hometown of North Andover.
John’s practice is as varied as his clients. He has helped people throughout both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, from Coos County and Sullivan Counties in New Hampshire to Attleboro, Massachusetts, from Pittsfield to Provincetown. Wherever the client is, John will go to bring his personal attention to the client’s legal issues, from purchasing a new home, to creating a comprehensive estate plan, to filing bankruptcy or for divorce. If a dispute can be resolved through negotiation, John will do his best to settle the matter outside of Court, but he will be ready to fight for your rights in Court if necessary. John is a member of the Massachusetts (1997) and New Hampshire (2001) Bar Associations, having represented clients in both states for years. He is also a member of the Federal District Court in Massachusetts, the Boston Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
